Family Peace Day

Participate in a community gathering to commemorate victims of atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, in 1945. All ages are welcome to participate in these hands on activities to promote peace and understanding. The event will include origami, music, and children’s story time.

Program Includes

  • Music by the Corvallis Peace and Justice Singalong
  • A telling of the story Sadako and the 1000 Paper Cranes
  • Origami paper crane folding
  • Universal Dances of Peace responsive art project in the museum

This event is a partnership with Corvallis Hiroshima Nagasaki Commemoration Committee. Be sure to check out their candlelight vigil on Wednesday, August 6 at the riverfront.
