2025 Liz & Bob Frenkel Hiking & Environment Series

Join the Marys Peak Group of the Sierra Club, Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, and Corvallis Sustainability Coalition Water Action Team for the 2025 Liz & Bob Frenkel Hiking & Environment Series featuring three free virtual events highlighting Corvallis’ river parks on Wednesday, March 26th, April 23rd, and May 28th from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The theme of this year’s Liz & Bob Frenkel Hiking & Environment Series is "String of Pearls: The Magic of Corvallis River Parks." Each event will feature the history, current amenities, ecological communities, special features, cultural practices and hiking trails of the respective parks and natural areas within the hiking complex. These free events are sponsored by the Marys Peak Group of the Sierra Club, Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, and Corvallis Sustainability Coalition Water Action Team.

The South Corvallis Willamette River Parks

This first in the series provides historic background, park ecology and current user opportunities for river parks in South Corvallis, featuring Willamette Park, Kendall Natural Area, Crystal Lake Sports Park and the Willamette Boat Landing. Presented by Gwendolyn Ellen, agricultural biodiversity consultant and daily hiker in these parks.

Presented by Dave Eckert, Water Action Team Leader for the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition.
