Starker Forests has scheduled four, free summer tours for the public. Registration is required and seating is limited. To register call the Starker Forests office at 541.929.2477 or email recreation@StarkerForests.com. All tours will leave from the Starker Forests office and transportation from there to the forest is provided.
Friday, July 11: Forest Management Tour

Friday, July 25: Active Harvest Tour
Visit an active harvest site and observe commercial thinning in action. Watch forestry equipment and learn why thinning is a critical tool for maintaining healthy forests, reducing fire risk, and improving timber quality.
Friday, August 8: Mill Tour
Get an inside look at how harvested trees are transformed into lumber on this behind-the-scenes tour at a local mill. You’ll follow logs from delivery to finished product and discuss how sustainability and efficiency are integrated into every step of the process.
Friday, August 22: Reforestation Tour
Learn what happens after a forest is harvested. See firsthand how Starker Forests ensures future generations of healthy, productive forests through science-based reforestation practices.
