Welcome to Corvallis, the vibrant, dog-friendly city nestled in the heart of the Willamette Valley. Whether you travel with your furry companions or seek a pawsitively perfect getaway, Corvallis has tail-wagging spots just for you! With their love of dogs, two businesses, Peak Bike & Outdoor and Common Fields, lead the way in offering you and your four-legged friends fun and food!
Recently, a young couple traveling the USA with their dog noticed how dog-friendly downtown Corvallis is for their furry family member. Have you joined the pack of adventurous dog lovers? It's no surprise that 61% of the 65.1 million households with dogs nationwide take their four-legged loves on vacation with them. As more hotels and businesses embrace pet-friendliness, there's no need to leave your fur baby behind or register them as emotional support animals just to bring them along!
Although 27% of pet parents are demanding more dog-friendly services, you’ll find that is not the motivation for why Peak Bike & Outdoor, a leading sports gear sales and rental store, and Common Fields, a food truck pod and tap room, go the extra lengths to create a comfortable and safe environment for dogs and their humans.

Peak Bike & Outdoors has become known for being dog-friendly. The front counter is proudly filled with photos of customers’ pups. Trainers will bring their four-legged students for socialization lessons. Employees happily bring their fur babies to work. Pet supplies toys by the Bend company, Ruffwear, are a hit here.
To celebrate their love for dogs and the community, Peak Bike & Outdoor hosts "Adventure With Dogs Week." In the past, Adventure Week provided First Aid for adventure dogs classes, trainers, paddleboard lessons, and vendors. Check out our Events calendar for current August dates, and don't miss their exciting partnership with the Humane Society, Safe Haven, for an adoption day!

When creating Common Fields, owner Jacob Oliver wanted to make it family-friendly. Since dogs are part of his family, he extended that welcome to customers’ canine families. In fact, he worked closely with the health department to ensure dogs are welcome inside the building, regardless of whether they are service animals or not.
When you visit Common Fields, your pup will feel right at home—there’s a water bowl waiting, plus eco-friendly toys and gear from Portland’s Cycle Dog to keep tails wagging. While they explore, you can sip a locally crafted drink and, on cooler days, cozy up together on one of the heated benches.
Come for the Yappy Hour (events they co-host with the independent pet store Animal Crackers) or another of the many events held there. Your dog may even end up singing along to the live music or making a host of new friends!
While in Corvallis, you too will notice how the city embraces a dog-friendly culture, thanks to the warm welcome provided by businesses like Peak Bike & Outdoor and Common Fields.
As you and your four-legged best friend walk around downtown, notice the door or window signs, inspired by Peak Bike & Outdoor’s desire to announce their shop’s canine inclusiveness, which are starting to appear in shop windows indicating dogs are welcome.
If you don’t see one, ask! 38% of Oregonians have dogs, and there’s a good chance the shop’s owner also has canine family members. If you want a head start on where to take your pup, check out our story, "Dog-Friendly Corvallis," for activities, events, and places to stay with your fur family.
