4 Places to Savor Oregon Wine on the Mid-Willamette Valley Food Trail

One of the many things you can enjoy on the Mid-Willamette Valley Food Trail is Oregon wine.

We have nine wineries on the Food Trail and they're all excellent places to settle in for a relaxing afternoon with a glass of Oregon's famous Pinot Noir. You can also get off the beaten path a bit at any of the Food Trail wineries, and try Chardonnays, Pinot Gris, Rosés, dessert wines, and more, too.

With nine stops on the list, it might be hard to know where to start. We've got four suggestions here that offer excellent wines and amazing views, as well as a chance to see a bit of the stunning scenery along our back roads. Remember to bring your masks as you visit - and your designated drivers!

Bluebird Hill Cellars is a beautiful winery with gorgeous rolling views across the hills and tons of bluebirds around their vineyard. Their wines - award-winning Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and more - are small-lot and handcrafted, mainly from estate fruit. They're open Saturdays and Sundays, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, and reservations are encouraged. Call (541) 424-2478 to make a reservation.

Bluebird Hill Cellars is located at 25059 Larson Road in Monroe. You can learn more about them on their website, and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

At Lumos you can relax on their beautiful tasting room deck, drinking in amazing views of Marys Peak with your wine. Sip award winning wines, among them Pinot Noir, Pinto Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, and more, made on Lumos' organic vineyard from fruits grown by their owners Dai and PK. Their tasting room, a renovated barn left over from the former dude ranch on the property, is open Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Lumos Wine Company is located at 24000 Cardwell Hill Drive in Philomath. Learn more about them on their website, and on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Springhill Cellars is home to an annual and much-anticipated Federweisser Festival that happens right after Thanksgiving and features live music, bonfires, and plenty of fun. Outside of the festival, visitors can enjoy lovely views of the Willamette Valley, including Marys Peak, from around their estate, while enjoying their Pinot Noirs, Pinot Gris, and Dry Rosé. Springhill is open Fridays from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Springhill Cellars is located at 2920 NW Scenic View Drive in Albany. You can learn more about them on their website, and on Facebook.

You'll find Tyee Wine Cellars nestled into a scenic, solar-powered, certified salmon-safe Century Farm that offers hiking, picnicking, and expansive views. Enjoy award-winning Pinot Noirs, Pinot Gris, Chardonnays and Gewurztraminers in the quaint little renovated creamery that serves as their tasting room, around the vineyard, or in their covered, open-air picnic area. Tyee is open Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Tyee Wine Cellars is located at 26335 Greenberry Road in Corvallis. You can learn more about them on their website, and on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
