Historic Preservation Month 2021

May is Historic Preservation Month, when we celebrate the nation’s heritage through historic places. Organizations across the country - including right here in Corvallis and Benton County - arrange activities, tours, and celebrations showcasing local history. There's a little something for every history lover to find in our area.

Spectres of Benton County Past help celebrate Historic Preservation Month

This year, the Benton County Historic Resources Commission is partnering with Conundrum House to bring the past to life through a mystery adventure game, "Spectres of Benton County Past."

The game will include activities that relate ghost stories connected to six wonderful historic resources in Benton County. For the first three Saturdays of May, starting May 1st, a new episode of the game will be released. The players are you, your relatives, housemates, and friends. You will have one week to investigate the resources and find the clues to that week’s mysteries. You will be able to physically visit the resources or you can play entirely through virtual interaction. On May 22nd, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. PST, the grand finale will be played in an entirely virtual event.

This game is free and open to all ages. The game is a family friendly event and, since it can be played entirely online, you can share this fun and exciting event with family and friends from other communities and states. Sign up for the game here.
