5 Ways to Celebrate Father's Day in Corvallis

Father's Day is this weekend! If you're looking for a way to celebrate the dads and father figures in your life, we have a few ideas.

1. Enjoy whiskey at 4 Spirits or flavored moonshine at Marcotte Distillery.

Corvallis is known for wineries and craft beer, but don't forget - we've got distilleries, too!

Enjoy a tasting at 4 Spirits Distillery, located at 3405 SW Deschutes Street in Corvallis, and sample whiskeys, vodkas and more, plus enjoy a delicious meal. Or head out to Philomath and discover Marcotte Distillery, at 1732 Main Street, where you can try out flavored moonshine.

2. Hit the links.

Get out on the green! Corvallis is home to three golf courses, all of which are open.

Enjoy Trysting Tree, just over the Willamtte River on HWY 20, and which serves as the home course of the Oregon State University golf team and features championship-worthy golf and practice facilities; Diamond Woods in Monroe, which offers a unique and exciting layout for a challenging golf experience to golfers of all levels; or Albany Golf in nearby Albany, which offers an 18 hole championship golf course that has hosted the Oregon Open.

3. Explore the great outdoors.

Corvallis is surrounded by trails that are perfect for hiking, biking, and horseback riding, and we've got hikes and rides for all skill levels.

Need gear? Visit Peak Sports where you can buy new equipment, rent bikes, and more. Need some ideas to get started? TheRightTrail.org catalogues the trails in Linn and Benton Counties and offers maps, tips, and everything you need to know to get out of the trails.

You can also visit our blog, were we have several articles on hiking and biking spots around Corvallis, including "Cool Corvallis Hikes for the Rest of Us," which talks about some good beginner's hikes, and "3 Great Hikes in Corvallis," which offers three fun hikes to try out.

4. Go wine tasting and savor locally-made Oregon wine.

An afternoon of wine tasting is just the thing! Most of our local wineries are now open, although several of them are only open by appointment. Be sure to call ahead for their safety and group requirements, and to arrange a tasting time.

We've also got the Heart of Willamette Wine Passport on sale right now, so you can pick that up and enjoy free tastings and swag at 17 different wineries around Corvallis.

5. Go to a baseball game.

The Corvallis Knights' season has begun and they've got home games all weekend. Pick a game night, get your tickets, and take yourselves out to a ball game.

Single-game tickets start at $8 each ($10 on fireworks nights), so enjoy good food, great beer from area brewers, and an awesome atmosphere. It'll be a night to remember for sure!
