2 Hours in Corvallis: Holiday Shopping & Little Morocco

Tucked between I-5 and the Coast Range you'll find Corvallis, a perfect spot to stop and take a break from your drive to the Oregon Coast. Explore our trails and cute downtown, grab a bite to eat, and relax a bit before you continue on your way to the Pacific Ocean.

Downtown Corvallis is full of locally-owned boutique stores, and many of them boast goods from our local craftspeople and artisans. Our downtown is highly walkable, too, making it a perfect way to stretch your legs, see the sights, and get in some holiday shopping. A few good stores to stop into include Sibling Revelry, the Inkwell Homestore, Burlap & Lace, ReStyle, and the Seoul Sisters Boutique - although you can't go wrong popping into just about any store in downtown Corvallis. If you've got little ones to shop for, a must-stop location is the Toy Factory, which offers something for any child. Art in the Valley Gallery and Terra Viva Gallery are two excellent spots to stop if you're hunting for something handmade and unique for a gift, and October through December you'll want to keep your eyes open for the seasonal Teal Co-Operative Gallery, another wonderful and unique shopping option.

When you're done checking names off your holiday shopping list you'll probably be ready for a bite to eat, and if you're in the mood for something Middle Eastern/Mediterranean, then you'll want to visit Little Morocco. This charming little cafe has all your favorites, from shawarma to baba ghanouj, and it's all delicious. One of Little Morocco's mezza plates shared among friends or family and a platter of Moroccan chicken is a great way to cap off an afternoon of shopping.

It's easy to head back on your way to the coast from Little Morocco. A short drive west on Washington Avenue will take you to 4th Street, also known as 99W or the Pacific Highway. 4th Street is one-way in Downtown Corvallis, so just head south and keep right to veer onto the Corvallis-Newport Highway, which will take you through Philomath and to a choice between HW20 or HW34. Both will lead you out to the Oregon Coast. If you have a little extra time, we recommend taking HW34, also known as the Marys Peak to Pacific Coast Scenic Byway. There are a lot of great sightseeing opportunities on this lovely, winding drive.
