  • Three-time WCL champion Zak Taylor (2016-2018) was named the Corvallis Knights Player of the Decade for 2010-2019. The Sherwood native, who played at Oregon State, was honored for his standout contributions on the field and in the clubhouse. Learn more.

Knights add future UCLA shortstop Milan Tolentino to roster

Future UCLA shortstop Milan Tolentino recently signed with the Knights for the 2020 season. He is a senior at Santa Margarita High School who lives in Mission Viejo, Calif. He bats left and throws right.

Milan was the starting shortstop for Team USA at the U-19 World Cup and helped the Americans win the silver medal. He is ranked as the No. 2 shortstop in California and the No. 7 shortstop nationally by Perfect Game.

Alex Williams earns PAC-12 Pitcher of the Week honors

Stanford sophomore right-handed pitcher Alex Williams (2019) was named the Pacific-12 Conference Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 10-16. He shut down Cal State Fullerton over seven innings and struck out three in a 2-1 victory to earn the award. Alex was also nominated for POW honors for Feb. 17-23, but was not selected.

WCL batting champion Jake Holcroft named WCC Player of the Week

Redshirt freshman outfielder Jake Holcroft was named the Rawlings WCC Player of the Week for Feb. 24-March 1. He hit a torrid .688 (11-for-16) over the Pilots four-game sweep of Stephen F. Austin State at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex. For the season, Holcroft is hitting a sizzling .484 for the 12-5 Pilots.

Alum Matt Hague joins Toronto organization as minor league coach

The Toronto Blue Jays have named former Aloha Knight infielder Matt Hague (2006) as the swing consultant and hitting coach for their Dunedin franchise in the Class A Florida State League. Matt played with Pittsburgh and Toronto in MLB after a college career at Washington and Oklahoma State. He was the 2014 International League MVP with Buffalo.

  • Portland first baseman Trayce Tammaro (2018-2019) was nominated for West Coast Conference Player of the Week for Feb. 10-16, but was not selected.
  • Cal Poly outfielder Cole Cabrera (2018) was nominated for Big West Conference Player of the Week for Feb. 10-16, but was not selected.
  • Portland outfielder Jake Holcroft (2019), the 2019 WCL batting champion, was nominated for West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors for Feb. 17-23 but was not selected.
  • The Colorado Rockies invited catcher Chris Rabago (2012-2013) to spring training. The former UC Irvine star was a two-time Joe Segel Hustle Award winner with the Knights and second-team all-decade selection.
  • Infielder Matt Duffy (2010) has signed a free agent deal with Texas after playing at Tampa Bay in 2019. He played at Long Beach State and has also played for San Francisco in MLB.
  • Catcher Andrew Susac (2009) has signed with Pittsburgh after spending 2019 in the Kansas City organization. The ex-Oregon Stater has played for San Francisco, Milwaukee and Baltimore.
  • Tampa Bay invited first baseman Dalton Kelly (2014) to spring training. He played at UCSB.
  • Cleveland sent outfielder Steven Kwan (2015) to minor league camp on Feb. 28. He played at OSU.
  • Cleveland sent LHP Dakody Clemmer (2015) to minor league camp on Feb. 28. He played at Arizona Western College.
  • Kansas City sent catcher Nate Esposito (2012) to minor league camp on Feb. 26. He played at OSU and at Concordia.
  • The Los Angeles Dodgers assigned LHP Ben (Wetzler) Holmes (2011) to minor league camp on Feb. 23. He pitched at OSU.
  • The New York mets reassigned RHP Stephen Nogosek (2013) to minor league camp on March 6. He played at Oregon.
