Knights Day Camps Set for June 19

The Knights will host their annual day camp on Wednesday, June 19 at Goss Stadium. Join the Knights' coaches and players for a day full of baseball fun! Camp starts at 9 a.m. and all campers will receive a free Knights t-shirt, lunch and a seat voucher that can be redeemed at any June home game!

All kids ages 6-14 are invited to join. Sign your camper up today! Call Derek at 541-752-5656 or send him an email.

Join the Knights Reading Club

The Corvallis Knights 2019 Reading Club presented by Central Willamette Credit Union is open for reading.

Knights players work as hard in the classroom as they do on the baseball field. They want to inspire young fans to become great readers and students, just as they are. During April and May, students in kindergarten through fifth grade are encouraged to achieve a 20-hour reading goal.

Knights Sign RHP from Dubai

The Knights have signed Sacramento State freshman right-hander Sean Fekete for 2019. He hails from Dubai, UEA and played for the Perth Heat Colts in the World Baseball Showcase. He was the first Middle East-based player from the World Baseball Showcase to earn an NCAA Division I scholarship.

If they reach this goal they will receive two free tickets to a Knights game and are invited onto the field for a pre-game parade to recognize their accomplishment! Find more information and steps on how to become a Reading Club participant.

Knights Sign Linn-Benton CC Pitcher Eric Hill

The Knights signed LBCC freshman right-handed pitcher Eric Hill this past February. He is a 6-foot-3, 210-pounder from West Linn, Ore., who played at Wilsonville High School.

He is currently 2-1 with a 4.24 ERA over 5 starts for the Roadrunners.

Clement Earns WCC Pitcher of the Week Honors for a Third Time

University of Portland senior right-hander Chris Clements (2015) earned West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week honors for a third time as he picked up two wins this past week to improve his record to 6-0, and he lowered his spring ERA to 1.75. He earned the win last Tuesday vs. #8-ranked Oregon State in relief, and another victory this past Sunday vs. LMU in a start.

In his Sunday start, alum outfielder Henry Cheney of the Pilots went 3-for-3 with a home run to lead UP to the 5-3 victory.

Chicago White Sox Acquire Lefty Josh Osich from Orioles

The Chicago White Sox claimed left-handed reliever Josh Osich (2008) on waivers from Baltimore. He played at Oregon State. Josh is now the second OSU/Knights pitcher on the White Sox roster, joining fellow Beaver lefty Jace Fry (2011). He was sent to triple-A Charlotte on March 21.

Zak Taylor Earns Academic Honor from Oregon State

Alum Zak Taylor (2016-18) was named a March Scholar-Athlete of the month by Oregon State. A senior from Sherwood, Ore., Taylor is a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention selection as a psychology major, and currently carries a 3.14 cumulative GPA.

Alumni News

  • Alums Jimmie Sherfy (2011, Diamondbacks), Peter Van Gansen (2013, Padres), Steven Kwan (2016, Indians), Andy Cosgrove (2014, Twins) and KJ Harrison (2015, Nationals) have been assigned to minor-league camp by their respective major-league teams. Sherfy is a right-handed pitcher from Oregon; Van Gansen is a middle infielder from Cal Poly; Kwan is an outfielder from Oregon State; Cosgrove is a catcher from Washington/North Carolina State and Harrison is a catcher/first baseman from Oregon State.
  • Pitcher Bud Norris (2005) has signed a minor-league contract with Toronto. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2018.
  • Portland sophomore shortstop Chad Stevens (2017-18) was nominated for West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors for March 4-10, but was not selected. His teammate Trace Tammaro (2018) as nominated for March 11-17, but was not selected.
  • Oregon first baseman Gabe Mathews (2017) and Oregon State catcher Adley Rutschman (2016) were nominated for Pac-12 Player of the Week honors for March 4-10, but were not selected. Washington catcher Nick Kahle (2016) was nominated for March 18-24, but not selected. Rutschman was named Pac-12 Player of the Week for March 11-17.
  • Oregon State junior shortstop Beau Philip (2018) was nominated for Pac-12 Conference Player of the Week honors for Feb. 26-March 4 but was not selected. He went 6-for-11 (.545) with two homers, a double, four RBIs and three runs in a 2-1 series win over West Virginia.
  • All-star right fielder Mitch Haniger (2010) of the Seattle Mariners has signed a one-year contract with the team. He hit .285 in 157 games in 2018, with 26 homers and 93 RBIs.
  • Catcher Rocky Gale (2007, 2009, Dodgers); right fielder Jordan Qsar (2017, Rays) and second baseman Nick Madrigal (2005, White Sox) were assigned to minor-league camp by their respective teams.

Knights 2019 Schedule

The Knights' 2019 regular-season schedule features 32 home dates and gets started on Wednesday, May 29, with their eighth annual Science, Engineering & Art Day game. They open their WCL season at Walla Walla on June 4. The Knights home WCL schedule begins on June 14.

Like last season, the start time for Monday-Saturday games is 6:30 pm. Sunday games will start at 3 p.m. Fireworks games will have special start times, either 7:15 pm or 7:05 pm. Get the Knights' complete downloadable schedule.
