Chip Ross Park and Natural Area is located on the north side of Corvallis (map), and can be accessed from NW Lester Avenue and NW 29th Street.

There's a lot to recommend at Chip Ross Park, like beautiful scenery, great trails, and picnicking. Chip Ross' trails connect to the Lower Dan's Trail on the east side of the park, which will lead you into McDonald Forest, too. It's excellent for hiking, running, and cycling, with trails that range from easy to moderate difficulties. Horses are also welcome on Chip Ross' trails, so it's a good spot for riding. The park is off-leash dog-friendly, and there are picnic tables at the Lester Avenue trailhead, so you can bring a lunch with you to enjoy.

The trail system at Chip Ross will take you through oak woodland, hilltop habitats of upland prairie, and oak savanna. Birdwatchers will enjoy a trek through the park, as well - the oak woodlands are home to acorn woodpeckers, house wrens, swallows, bluebirds, and other birds.
