It’s been said that small businesses are the heartbeat of a community and the spirit of a town. In Corvallis, that’s certainly true.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses have been hit hard and are now navigating through growing their business during these challenging times. To assist, Visit Corvallis is announcing a new campaign urging Benton County and nearby residents to help support local businesses.
On Monday, November 9, Visit Corvallis is kicking off their “Shop Where Your Heart Is” contest to encourage shopping local. Through the end of November, you can download the free Corvallis Savings Pass and get a chance to win a prize. There will be four winners, and each prize is $250 in gift cards from Savings Pass participating businesses.
From now until November 30, 2020, Visit Corvallis will be highlighting businesses in Corvallis, and encourage residents and visitors to support our business community as it weathers these tough times.
The contest’s name, “Shop Where Your Heart Is,” is a reminder to all of us that investing in our community helps makes our community more livable and prosperous in the future.
The Downtown Corvallis Association invites you to celebrate Shop Small November in downtown Corvallis with their free Shop Small Passport. Pick up your passport at participating businesses and earn a stamp by spending at least $10 at passport locations. Collect 7 or more stamps from these businesses and turn your passport in to be entered into a drawing for a Downtown Gift Basket! Learn more here.
The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition challenges you to consider locally owned independent businesses first when making purchases. Money spent in a locally owned business generates more economic benefits - measured in income, wealth, jobs and tax revenue - than money spent at a national chain or globally owned business.
