National Historic Preservation Month

Every May Corvallis joins communities across the country to celebrate National Historic Preservation Month. Celebrating in Corvallis means more than a dozen events that include guided bicycle and walking tours, a special dedication to a project 40 years in the making, an awards ceremony, tours of historic buildings, and more. Oregon State University is celebrating their 150th anniversary, so this year's Historic Preservation Month theme is "Oregon State University at 150." Learn more.

Natural Areas Celebration Week

There are 25 events planned for Natural Areas Celebration Week this year, almost all of which are family friendly. This year's events include nature walks and hikes in areas like the William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge, Marys Peak, Witham Hill, Peavy Arboretum, Jackson-Frazier Wetland, and more. There are stargazing nights, bat-watching nights, a bonfire and wine tasting, a couple of special lectures, birding, and more to enjoy. Learn more.

OSU Pet Day

May 5, 10am-4pm | OSU, Magruder Hall | Free Admission (Some events require registration.)

OSU's Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine opens its doors for tours, demonstrations, displays, a petting zoo, and other family-friendly events. Activities will include dog agility demonstrations, a teddy bear surgery, a petting zoo, tours of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, a dog wash and nail trim booth, a pet costume contest and more. Koenig’s Llamas, Cascade Pack Goats and the Oregon Herpetological Society provide opportunities to meet animals that are not typical pets. Learn more.
