Too Much of a Good Thing?

Speaker: Christine Pollard, associate professor of Kinesiology at Oregon State University - Cascades

Christine Pollard, the director of the Functional Orthopedic Research Center of Excellence (FORCE) Laboratory at Oregon State University - Cascades, will be presenting on the peculiar findings the FORCE Lab team unearthed as regards HOKA ONE ONE maximal running shoes. The FORCE Lab has now twice found that maximal shoes actually provide less functional cushioning than traditional running shoes. Could too much of a good thing be bad for runners? If runners love their HOKAs, then the answer might be a resounding no, but if they hate them, the FORCE Lab’s next study might show why.
