Ring of Fire Eclipse

Corvallis, Oregon will be just inside the path of annularity for the Ring of Fire eclipse on Oct. 14. Any of our parks and natural areas should make good viewing spots, as well as Marys Peak.

  • 8:05:36 a.m. - Partial eclipse begins. The moon touches the sun's edge. The sun will be close to the horizon, so make sure you have free sight to East-southeast.
  • 9:18:01 a.m. - Full eclipse begins. The annular phase starts.
  • 9:18:53 a.m. - Maximum eclipse. The moon will be closest to the center of the sun.
  • 9:19:44 a.m. - Full eclipse ends. The annular phase ends.
  • 10:39:30 a.m. - Partial eclipse ends. The moon leaves the sun's edge.
