Broncs & Brews

Visit us in Corvallis, Oregon for two days and two nights of craft beers and buckin' broncos! The Philomath Frolic and Rodeo happens every year in July. This itinerary is easily adapted for the Benton County Fair and Rodeo, as well, and that happens yearly at the beginning of August.

Corvallis Broncs & Brews: 2 Days & 2 Nights Enjoying Craft Beer & Rodeos

Day One

Whether you're here for the Philomath Frolic Rodeo (map) or one of many rodeo ground events throughout the year, we welcome you. Corvallis is the perfect place to stay with a wide range of lodging choices a short drive to the rodeo grounds. Pre-purchase tickets at or pick them up at the gate. The festivities start at 4pm on Thursday and 10am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and run through 11 p.m. each evening.

Enjoy the small town charm and heart-pounding action of this American tradition! There is a carnival for the kids and lots of choices for fair food. If you'd rather return to Corvallis for dinner and need suggestions, please stop by or call the Corvallis Visitor Information Center for dining guides and great advice!

For the 21 and over crowds, Corvallis is hoppin with post-rodeo nightlife including several local breweries! Tonight, try Flat Tail Brewing (map) and Sky High Brewery (map) downtown. Overnight in Corvallis at one of our excellent hotels.

Day Two

Today you'll head back to Philomath, but not until you enjoy a nice breakfast here in Corvallis!

We have options aplenty but for something different, try a traditional Mexican breakfast at the authentic Delicias Cafe (map). With fun twists on breakfast burritos and Huevos Rancheros, you'll be well fed and ready for rodeo! Now you're off to watch the cowboys and cowgirls at the Philomath Frolic - enjoy the day! Yeehaw!

Don't forget to head back to Corvallis tonight for another sample of our locally-brewed craft beer. Tonight, try Block 15 Brewery's south location (map) and one of our local McMenamins: McMenamins Corvallis (map) or McMenamins on Monroe (map)! Live music in many locations will be easy to find on Friday and Saturday nights of rodeo weekend. Stay the night in Corvallis.

Day Three

Before you leave town, why not make a couple more stops on your way out of town? Nectar Creek and 2 Towns Ciderhouse (map) are co-located in the same building, right on your way to I-5, and are a great stop! If you are looking for shopping options, please visit our downtown merchants at for a list and map of beautiful shops, eateries and galleries you won't want to miss!
