Oregon State University Corvallis enjoys the best of two worlds -- the excitement of a small city surrounded by beautiful countryside and the international scope of a vibrant and dynamic university which attracts top students and faculty from all over the world. Oregon State University (OSU), Oregon's first public university, is internationally recognized for the quality of its faculty, research programs and public service. OSU offers its 18,000 students over 200 programs in 14 colleges, and attracts more than $100 million in research grants each year. These academic programs are complemented by hundreds of student-run organizations many of which host special activities open to the public such as the Hui-o-Hawaii Club's annual Luau and the OSU Craft Center's Holiday Marketplace. OSU is one of the only West Coast universities to have four cultural centers and minority education offices contributing to the cultural diversity of Corvallis.
