Educational Institutions: Education is available to all ages in Corvallis. There are 21 day care and preschool centers, ten elementary schools, four middle schools, two high schools, one community college and one university.

Industries: Research and development are important sources of employment in Corvallis. Sunset Research Park is home to a diversified group of businesses from engineering, to industrial robotics, to software and sports education. Oregon State University is Oregon's leading research university. Hewlett-Packard, an electronics firm which designs and manufactures electronic calculators and printers, employs over 5,000 people at their Corvallis site.
